When you are expecting a child, you are filled with emotions and have a lot to prepare for when the baby arrives. Our obstetrics team helps make this time a little easier as they guide you through prenatal care with the goal of always being a healthy mom and baby! During this time, you will receive nutrition and medication advice, high-risk pregnancy counseling as needed and ultrasounds.
Childbirth is a unique experience. For some women, it’s over within a few hours, but for others, labor tests the mother’s physical and emotional strength. Labor is often unpredictable, but, with years of experience, our staff will guide you through all of the stages. When you make it to “the other side” of birth, you can look back with pride and wonderment.
The postpartum period begins after the delivery of your baby and often lasts 6 to 8 weeks. The mother experiences a multitude of changes, both emotionally and physically, during and after pregnancy which may cause depression. It’s often referred to as having the “baby blues” as the mother’s body begins to transition back to its pre-pregnant state. It’s important to talk to your providers about your postpartum changes, get plenty of rest, eat nutritious foods, and get extra help during this time.
The Women’s Village of Mobile is conveniently located in the SpringHill Medical Center off of Dauphin Street and I-65! This location is easily accessible and allows patients convenient access to all of our services. At SpringHill Medical Center, we are located in building 2 on the 4th floor in suite 4A. If you have trouble locating our office once you have arrived at the hospital, please don’t hesitate to give us a call!
